KAVADI PAT : A Blessing in Disguise!!!

We have been residing in Pune for more that 6 years now. However, this magical place came to our knowledge recently. Kavadi Pat is a place located on Solapur highway near Hadapsar. The reason it is called blessing in disguise is inspite of not a hyped destination it is rated at par best places for birding in Maharashtra.

We visited this place thrice in months of November, December and January 2014 at different times to see check on different types birds we anticipated. We happened to spot different types of birds at different times. To our surprise, this place was the one where we could see almost all major species of birds that are sighted in Maharashtra.

Unfortunately, there is no awareness of the beauty this place exhibits at the adjacent locality. Because of which the place is not clean and loads garbage can be seen destroying the beauty of birds. People are seen littering and government has taken least cognizance of the same.

It's worth visiting this place again and again because it gives much more than one ever expects to witness!!!

Hedvi, Bhudal, .......

Konkan, known for nature and beautiful beaches, is still one of those rarest of rare places which have still preserved significance for solitude, freshness and originality. It's one of those places where you can still cherish the memories you would have enjoyed while your visit 5 years back. Yes, it's still the same!!
I bet you would still haven't known places in Konkan which are better than visited till date irrespective of number of times you have been there. More you go, more you get know!!
With few close buddies of ours we visited Hedvi, Bhudal a few weeks back. It was as fascinating as one could ever imagine. We started from Mumbai in the night and reached early fogged morning. Visited Jaigarh and Bhudal beach known for it's cleanliness and non-commericalization. Crazy for birds, we did not at all miss an opportunity to click all those while in the ferry and otherwise. Here are a few for you to decide the beauty of this place!!!

Nagarhole - A place to remember!!

Nagarhole is located in Karnataka and is known for it's National Park / Wildlife sanctuary. We started from Pune in the morning, flew to Bangalore, took a bus to Mysore and then drove for 3 hours to reach to place called Kabini. We stayed at The Bison Resort for 2 nights and 3 days to thrive upon it's beauty.

Nagarhole is best known for it's dense forests and wildlife sanctuary situated deep within. We went for two safaris; one in the morning and second one in afternoon on the next day. Believe us, this forest never disappoints. We were surely lucky to spot games all the time. One day we spent on visiting nearby lake to spot variety of birds.
